First, the new boat is excellent. The ride, the comfort, it is outstanding. With the Covid Pandemic, the deck is bleached down after each charter as is the HEAD. Cushions and fabrics sprayed with antibacterial carpet spray each week. The boat, simply put – is a strong comfortable machine that has handled some big seas. Rest assured, this is no deep V hull.

Haddock are out big time. Since the season started, there has been no let up. Pollock have been caught in the 30″ range. But, the big surprise is the Cusk catch. Big Cusk, up to 31″.

For those that have gone out with me, you know my quest is always Halibut. Dorothy and Steve came out with me a couple days ago and know my desire to get one of these big beasts. The legal size to keep is 41″. Two legal ones were caught last year with 6 others needing to be thrown back. Well, the Captain got his wish. On a Jig, with no luck getting any Haddock…Yes Steve and Dorothy, long time guests to Adventure and Catch, were showing up the Captain! I went down with a custom rig and bait set and 30 secs later I had a 40 minute fight with a 160-170 lbs 65 inch Halibut. This was a dream come true.

First, Adventure and Catch has a new boat. Its a 30 ft. Shamrock Mackinaw. After taking her out for her sea trials and intentionally putting her into some REAL water, I am happy to say she is a battle wagon. She handles well and just feels stout! In addition, the cockpit is larger and will accommodate 6 without a problem. The pilot house gives protection from the elements – NO MORE getting wet coming back from a great day of fishing!

This past week, the Governor of NH has given word that six pack charters CAN start bringing clients out onto the great blue. So Adventure and Catch is officially open!

Finally, the Ledge is being good to those that make it out there. The Haddock is amazing. I have never seen it as thick as it is now. We have been throwing what is normally keeper fish back to get bigger ones! Both trips so far have had the boat limited out within just a few hours.

We have a new boat. As yet, she is not named. However, the final touches are being made and she will be coming up from Virginia this week!

She is a 30 feet length overall and has a 9’6″ beam. Her cruising speed is 26 mph and she will max out at 35 mph. However, what makes her special is the much larger cockpit- fishing deck and the pilot house. No more getting wet! In addition, the restroom is fully enclosed and separate from other areas on the boat!

While repairs and upgrades are taking place, we are taking advance reservations for the 2020 fishing season. Early Spring is wonderful! Its where the Pollock and Haddock are large and abundant. Dogs are not out and everything seems to be alive!.

Hard to believe that Fall is upon us and with it, are the COD. COD has been opened up for catch and just look above at the beauty caught this past Sunday On Jefferys Ledge in about 240 ft. of water.

The Catch was excellent with the boat hauling in 62 Haddock, 5 really nice COD (Legal -keeper size is 21″ and we could have had limited out. However, 21 is a little small. All Cod kept = 25″ or larger! Some large Pollock – all 26″ or better and several Hake. Including the one seen above that was caught by yours truly. Just an incredible day with incredible people.

We still have weekend openings for the rest of September and October. Look forward to seeing you out on the Great Blue!

Been a while and the Captain is finally able to update the world. The fishing has been excellent June 1st – 3rd were incredible days with the boat limiting out each day on Haddock and also bringing in large Pollock and many Cusk.

june 7-9 was very busy with some of the best weather all season! Calm seas and great people! The catch has been consistent though spotty at times. However, catch we did as the pictures show. The biggest highlight came in the way of just being able to teach some wonderful kids about the ocean and about catching some big fish!

Dorothy and Steve came out for some Adventure and some Catch. And boy did they catch. When your guests tell you, “I’m done. I can not do anymore and its just 1pm and the fish have yet to stop coming up, you know you did something right! We limited out on Haddock, Caught several Pollock, another Wolf Fish and several BIG Cod.
